Description: The centre is a result of Glenarm and Carnlough communities working together with the council to make a successful bid for neutral venue funding. The management committee is equally representative of both religion and village residence, this process was very capably handled by an employed facilitator, Mr Jim Lewis (funded by Community Relations Council). The Central Community Relations Unit's £187,000 enabled the council to take the decision to contribute a further £112,000 towards this project. Tenders were sought for the above project with work commencing in October 1996 and the official opening on Thursday 19th June 1997 was conducted by the Mayor, Councillor Mrs Joan Drummond.
