Belfast, Northern Ireland. 1986
Here we see two mobile patrols and a foot patrol clearing a street. The average weight a soldier had to carry whilst on patrol was about 50lbs (30kg). This extra weight had to be carried sometimes up to five or eight hours at a time. It therefore, goes without question, that the soldiers had to be super fit before going on tour. (Paul Crispin)
