The Catholic church, which has been offered seats on the Lynn Committee, boycotts the proceedings. While the committee's report voices its regret that the " . . . Catholic interests have not been represented . . .", the remarks of Cardinal Logue reflect the deep mistrust which is so prevalent in the new state at the time when he says, "I have little doubt that an attack is being organised against our Catholic schools. I fear the Lynn Committee will be the foundation and pretext for that attack.
