NORTHERN IRELAND PRISON SERVICE ANNUAL REPORT

The Prison Service in Northern Ireland is required by statute to produce, annually, a report detailing the financial and administrative management of the organisation. It contains sections on every aspect of work in prisons including operational security, regimes, staffing, health care, prison estate management, education and welfare. It also contains reports from a range of independent agencies working inside and outside prisons including Board of Visitors, the Probation Service, Prison Chaplains and the voluntary sector. Appendices provide statistical information on running costs, prison population and type of offences for which prisoners are being committed by the courts to prison.
