SCHOOL PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

The Parent's Charter gave a commitment that the Department of Education would publish a range of information to enable the performance of schools to be compared. This publication presents performance information on secondary (including grammar) schools and serves as a snapshot of certain aspects of school performance in one year. The information provided on each school covers the following: enrolment; attendance rate; the number of subjects offered at GCSE, 'AS' level and 'A' level; the number of pupils entered for GCSE, 'AS' and 'A' level examinations and the results achieved; and the destinations of leavers (another school, YTP, further education etc.). The 1991/92 information (the first year of publication) did not represent all the achievements of a school or of pupils attending a school and the information for 1992/93 and subsequent years will be extended to include data on vocational qualifications.
